Jennifer does not have any sort of valour- she prefers to hide behind stronger, more courageous individuals willing to fight her battles for her. She’s not fond of picking fights with people, nor does she enjoy the thrill of competition. Challengers are often met with timid squeaks and wary glances- if they find her at all. She's an elusive gym leader, evading capture by the police and gym challengers at all costs. She says it's part of the trial to become worthy of obtaining the badge- other's say it's her being plain ridiculous. Sometimes, when presented with a gym challenger that she finds rather 'scary', Jennifer will almost forfeit and give her badge away- unless they insist upon a battle. Once she participates in a battle, however, she focuses on the task and gives it her all; for she is required too (her job dictates it). If it came down to it, Jennifer would rather flee than fight in any stressful situation and thus she’s a rather elusive character. She learnt from a very young age how exactly to avoid being noticed by potential enemies, escaping the wrath of many school bullies and police figures. However, even through she’s a rather obscure and spineless person she can be sweet once engaged in ‘normal’ conversation, and she has decided that you are no threat. Her manners can be considered to be almost perfect, and she’s extremely polite and gentle in social situations. However, due to her inhibiting cowardice she rarely offers opinions and will slyly change the subject when queried for one. She is also very distrustful of everyone, unwilling to really connect with people due to her fear of having to fight- either for them or with them- at a later stage. Thus she’s rather disloyal and selfish; feeling little at leaving others in sticky predicaments should she believe herself to be in danger. She’s kind- to a point. If her own safety or comfort has to be risked in order to help another, she will gladly refuse to offer any assistance- with a wide smile on her face. The only Pokémon Jennifer feels fully safe around are her team Pokémon- more than likely because she knows they will never betray/fight her (or have the chance too, considering they spend most of their lives inside their poke balls). Due to her need to escape rather often Jennifer has developed a resourcefulness that helps her in her battles and daily escapades. With steady fingers and a quirky mind she will use her imagination to think up the best, most complicated escape route- one that lets her leave unheard or unharmed. It also means she has rather different battle tactics, and pre-plans her moves in her mind. Most of this social and stress related insecurity stems from a rather permanent poor self image. To try amend this horrible lack of self confidence Jennifer became an underground trainer at a early age, and now is determined to become the best gym leader she could possibly be. Her tactics in battle reflect her shy personality- Jennifer does not favour outward physical attacks, preferring to be more sly and obscure in her tactics. |

She loves the freedom she offers. She also enjoys cloudy days, pizza, feathers of different colours, giggling at pathetic jokes and watching black and white movies. DISLIKES: Her main dislike is that of competitive trainers. In general trainers that are overly pushy, or are ambitious tend to spook Jennifer easily. She also dislikes thunderstorms, open spaces, pasta, loud people and police officers. HOBBIES: Her favourite hobby is daydreaming. It keeps her occupied for hours at a time, and allows her to waste the days away. She also tends to read, find new hiding places and bake (very very badly... Jennifer is no chef). AMBITIONS: Currently Jennifer only has two ambitions- to gain some self confidence by becoming a good gym leader, and to get a rock/flying type Pokémon to deal with those scary electric Pokémon that challenge her. FEARS: Jennifer fears death in all shapes and forms- the mere thought of dying will send her into emotional shut-down. She also fears being alone for the rest of her life- unable to connect with others. |
